Artist Statement
As a multidisciplinary artist, my practice is shaped by a transformative journey of healing, inspired by Carl Jung’s vision of making the unconscious conscious and Eckhart Tolle’s teachings on the present moment. Through watercolors and mixed media, I create art that bridges inner and outer worlds, inviting emotional resonance. My Mindful Luminism approach channels consciousness through evocative color fields and translucent layers, building and unlearning textures to mirror personal awakening. My mixed media works, left unframed to unlimit the viewer, invite free interpretation, offering spaces for stillness, resilience, and wholeness.
Biography
Catherine Karam (b. 1982, Baskinta, Lebanon) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice reflects a journey of healing and mindfulness. From childhood sketches to a Fine Arts degree in Beirut, she evolved through moves to Dubai (2008) and Doha (2012), founding Conscious Walls in 2023. Guided by Mindful Luminism, her abstract expressions in watercolors and mixed media create a unique interplay between the layers and the emotions.
Our Story
Conscious Walls began with a journey of self-discovery, transforming mindful quotes into chalkboard art to inspire positivity. Evolving, we now craft linen prints that honor Qatar’s heritage through sustainable craftsmanship, blending local values with global resonance. Transitioning to the Fields of Awakening collection, we embrace Mindful Luminism, inviting healing and connection through evocative art.
